Video: Afrikan Boy ‘Yall Don’t Really Hear Me’

Lagos Town/London’s Afrikan Boy drops this new clip for the non-What Took You So Long joint ”Yall Don’t Really Hear Me.” Military drum rolls and violin synth lines play backdrop to Afrikan Boy’s raps about a place where the skinny knuckas die (you know where). If you haven’t yet, grab his free What Took You So Long mixtape. As Tropical Bass points out, Afrikan Boy also recently shot a video for “Know About Me,” watch it over there.

Revivalist’s African Jazz Issue: Sierra Leone’s Refugee Allstars

Today Revivalist reveals their feature story on Sierra Leone’s Refugee Allstars – a group of inspired musicians who first came together at a refugee camp during Sierra Leone’s brutal 11 year war.  Using music as a form of healing, inspiration, and to affect positive change, the Refugee Allstars have also been the subject of a wonderful documentary (think Buena Vista Social Club).  They are currently working on their next project, an album heavily produced by Victor Axelrod of Antibalas fame.  For more on their story, and some amazing live video, check out the Revivalist now.

Video: Afrikan Boy – Lagos Town
