Mr Eazi, Wizkid, AKA, Issa Rae and More Nominated for 2017 BET Awards

DIASPORA—The nominees for the 2017 BET Awards have been announced.

Beyoncé leads the pack this year wth seven total nominations—no real surprise there. This year’s international nominees, however, include some of our favorite newcomers from the continent.

Stormzy and Skepta are both nominated for “Best International Act: Europe.” Both have won the award before, 2015 and 2016, respectively. Insecure’Issa Rae is nominated for “Best Actress.”

The “Best International Act: Africa,” category features an exciting group of artists from the continent. Wizkid, who took home the award back in 2012 is nominated for the third time. Davido the 2014 winner, also earned a nomination. South African rapper, AKA, who’s been nominated twice before, is competing for the award again this year. Mr Eazi, TeknoBabes Wodumo, Stonebwoy and Nasty C are all nominated for the first time.

Tune in on Sunday, June 25 to see which of these African acts take home awards, and see the full list of 2017 BET Awards nominees below.
