This Monday, NYU‘s Gallatin school will be hosting a panel discussion and concert linking up Senegalese rappers/musicians Thiat (Keur Gui)Foumalade (Batthaillons Blin-D) and Baay Bia with several activists and scholars, including Dead Prez M-1 — who crafted a great Africa In Your Earbuds for us some moons ago. Don’t miss Dakar 2 NYC Global Hip-Hop Exchange, it looks to be a highly stimulating talk, and head to The Shrine Sunday night to catch a preview of what’s to come where Thiat and Foumalade will be holding it down onstage from 9PM-10PM. Watch Keur Gui’s “Coup 2 Guele” below. All info on the panel here.

Big up to Nomadic Wax, the NYU Gallatin School, and all the participants that made this an eye opening and inspirational event. Events like this help all students, formal or otherwise, broaden their world view perspective through music and social discourse.
