Cape Town's naas creative Thor Rixon makes his music debut with 'Misery Belle' featuring Inge Beckmann.
<p>"Misery Bell," Cape Town artist <strong><a href="http://www.okayafrica.com/2013/06/24/interview-cape-town-creatives-naas-drop-botswana-beat-genius-video-fun-toy-ep/" target="_blank">Thor Rixon</a></strong>’s debut video is the latest chunky serving from the creative soup of the Mother City. Blending electronic music production with vocals, live action with animation, "Misery Belle" is a comfortable confluence of sights and sounds. If animated monster’s and Rixton's dreadlocked visage doesn't suffice, there's the piercing presence of <strong>Inge Beckman</strong> (<strong>Lark</strong>, <strong>Beast</strong>), offering her distinctive howl and sculpted jowl to the proceedings. "Misery Belle" is Rixon’s first video, produced by a branch of his creative collective <strong><a href="http://www.naas.co.za/films/" target="_blank">naasFILMS</a></strong>– the same team behind <strong><a href="http://www.okayafrica.com/2014/02/05/cutting-gems-naas-cape-town/" target="_blank">Cutting Gems</a></strong>' "Tonight/Baby" and <strong><a href="http://www.okayafrica.com/2013/06/24/interview-cape-town-creatives-naas-drop-botswana-beat-genius-video-fun-toy-ep/" target="_blank">O'ltak</a></strong>'s "Stars (Lemonade)"– and forms part of a follow-up to his debut album, last year’s <em>Shared Folder</em> (which you can download <a href="http://www.mediafire.com/download/4bgf9bkg291zoa4/Thor+Rixon%27s+Shared+Folder.zip" target="_blank">here</a>). <em>Tea Time Favourites</em> is due out next Tuesday, 2 June.
