London was one of the first cities in the world this year to celebrate Felabration, the annual tribute to the legacy of Fela Kuti timed around his October 15th birthday.
<p>Last week, <em>AGMP</em>, <em>Knitting Factory Records</em> and <em>Okayafrica</em> held an all-out bash at the <strong>Electric Ballroom</strong> for a Felabration night that featured performances from <a href="http://www.okayafrica.com/tag/dele-sosimi/" target="_blank"><strong>Dele Sosimi Afrobeat Orchestra</strong></a>, <a href="http://www.okayafrica.com/tag/temi-dollface/" target="_blank"><strong>Temi Dollface</strong></a>, <strong>Breis</strong>, <strong>Bumi Thomas</strong>, <a href="http://www.okayafrica.com/tag/afrikan-boy/" target="_blank"><strong>Afrikan Boy</strong></a>, <strong>Tiggs da Author</strong>, and many more special guests.</p><p>Dele Sosimi, a longtime keyboardist for Fela Kuti‘s<strong> Egypt 80</strong> and bandleader for <a href="http://www.okayafrica.com/tag/femi-kuti/" target="_blank"><strong>Femi Kuti</strong></a>‘s <strong>Positive Force</strong>, and his orchestra were the house band for the night, keeping everyone moving to their afrobeat rhythms.</p><p><div class="preroll-video"></div><ora-player></ora-player></p><p>Check out photos from London Felabration below.
