Audio: Captain Planet 'Bokazo' [Download]

Stemming from his hip-hop background, producer Captain Planet flips and samples a vast arsenal of vinyls from 'round the globe (he used to be the host of WNYU's international music show "Passport") to create a blend he calls gumbo funk. "Bokazo," the first taste off his upcoming cassette Mystery Trip Vol. 1 on Bastard Jazz Recordings, is a "heavy and pulsing journey into Ghana mixed with deeper modern dancefloor vibes."
