Stranger Lagos Campaign

Stranger Lagos, an African style boutique and cafe released their Spring/ Summer 14 lookbook campaign.

Stranger

(1) a person whom one does not know or with whom one is not familiar;

(2) a person who does not know, or is not known in, a particular place or community;

(3) (stranger to) a person entirely unaccustomed to (a feeling, experience, or situation);

That definition greets each visitor to coffee shop and boutique Stranger Lagos' website. The shop stocks a great selection of brands including Collateral Concepts, Marvie Lab, Orange Culture, Peir Wu,Post Imperial, and U.MI-1. The boutique recently released its Spring/ Summer 14 campaign with a lookbook that follows 'the short journey of the Trickster god/goddess as they fall into a new reality." Photographed by Lakin Ogunbanwo, the lookbook showcases a contemporary Africa at a beach house in Ibese, Lagos. It's far away from Western clichés of African style and features garments from the previously mentioned brands, as well as labels from their archive like Sacai, Helmut Lang and Yohji Yamamoto.
