Four days ago, ex-US president Barack Obama tweeted, “‘No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin or his background or his religion…’”

The tweet is an excerpt of a famous quote by ex-South African president and apartheid struggle hero Nelson Mandela from his book Long Walk To Freedom:

“No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite.”

Obama was tweeting in response to the racially motivated violence which erupted in Charlottesville, Virginia.

The tweet is currently sitting on more than 4 million likes, making it the most liked tweet in the history of the social media platform.
