Premiere: Dan Croll x Ladysmith Black Mambazo 'Hello My Baby' For Record Store Day

Stream British singer Dan Croll's collaboration with Ladysmith Black Mambazo for Record Store Day.


Back in December, British singer/songwriter Dan Croll travelled to Durban to take part in some recording sessions with Ladysmith Black Mambazo. "Hello My Baby," the fruits of those sessions, blends the famed South African outfit's choir vocals with Croll's pop sensibilities. The song's intro is signature Ladysmith Black Mambazo, which slowly transitions into Croll's sunshine guitar melodies in this booming ode to a girl. "Hello My Baby" b/w “Ever At Your Side” will see a limited 10" vinyl release for Record Store Day on April 19 at select independent record stores. Dying Lagoons Reveal Mexico’s Environmental Racism

In the heart of a traditionally Black and Indigenous use area in Southwest Mexico, decades of environmental destruction now threatens the existence of these communities.

On an early morning in September 2017, in a little fishing village in the Pacific coast of Oaxaca, called Zapotalito, thousands of dead fish floated on the surface of the Chacahua-Pastoría lagoons. A 7.1-magnitude earthquake, which rattled Mexico City on September 19, was felt as far down as Zapotalito, and the very next morning, its Black, Indigenous and poor Mestizo residents, who depend on the area's handful of lagoons for food and commerce, woke up to an awful smell and that terrible scene of floating fish.
