Al Da 3rd showcases Instro's production in his latest MXD mix.
In the latest installment of his MXD series of MXD mixes, Al Da 3rd celebrates the production skills of Instro. From some of his most "underground" productions for the likes of Mothipa to his most mainstream (Kid X, Cassper Nyovest and Reason) and some songs that many fans weren't aware were produced by the man.
MXD is a series by producer, deejay and BETR Gang member Al Da 3rd. It showcases the productions of some of South Africa's most respected producers—in past installments he has dedicated MXD mixes to the likes of ANATII, Tweezy and Buks.
Instro is one of the most respected beatmakers and sound engineers in South African hip-hop. He has worked closely with artists such as Mothipa, Reason and Stogie T. in the early 2010s, he was the inhouse producer and engineer for Motif Records.
The mix showcases Instro's versatility—his catalog includes traditional boom bap beats and modern production styles. Instro has been part of the South African hip-hop scene for more than a decade. He released the mixtape NASA (Now and Still After) (2008), and it is a stone-cold SA hip-hop classic. He has engineered most—if not all—of the rapper Reason's discography.
