Cape Town three piece Original Swimming Party debut their electronic beat based melancholia on 'The Blue EP'
<p><strong><a href="https://www.facebook.com/originalswimmingparty" target="_blank">Original Swimming Party</a></strong>, the experimental electro three piece from Cape Town have dropped their spellbinding debut <em>The Blue EP </em>following last night's launch at Cape Town's<a href="http://www.thefugard.com/" target="_blank"> Fugard Theatre</a>. Recorded at <a href="http://www.redbullstudios.com/capetown" target="_blank">The Red Bull Studios Cape Town</a> this fresh release floats between echoes of <strong>Thom Yorke</strong> circa <em>The Eraser </em>and <strong>Damon Albarn</strong>'s new <em><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rjbiUj-FD-o&feature=kp" target="_blank">Every Day Robots</a> </em>sound. In between stand out tracks like the languidly emotive "Weeping Song II," <strong><a href="https://www.facebook.com/pages/Jeremy-de-Tolly-music-page/252046068353" target="_blank">Jeremy De Tolly</a> </strong>and bandmates <strong>Thomas Glendinning </strong>and<strong> Greg Abrahams</strong> craft alternative soundscapes made of white noise and drone bleeps on the purely instrumental "ES330MxRps-6 (But You)." Original Swimming Party's use of guitars, boldly spacious production and vulnerable male vocals is nothing short of refreshing. Stream and download <em>The Blue</em> <em>EP</em>'s <em> </em>subtle mix of flickering melancholy beats and entrancing melodies below.</p><p><div class="preroll-video"></div><ora-player></ora-player></p><p><iframe seamless="" src="http://bandcamp.com/EmbeddedPlayer/album=751059887/size=large/bgcol=ffffff/linkcol=7137dc/artwork=small/transparent=true/" style="border: 0; width: 400px; height: 307px;"><a href="http://originalswimmingparty.bandcamp.com/album/the-blue-ep">The Blue EP by Original Swimming Party</a></iframe></p>
