OKP Exclusive: Official Roots Picnic 2012 Mixtape - DJ Low Budget

Mixtape artwork by DJ Underdog

Kaboom. This weekend kicks off the Summer festival season and next weekend is our own little jamboree, a thing we call the 5th Annual Roots Picnic. To give you a sampling of the amazing cross-section of the live music that will unfold over the 2-day affair at Penn's Landing festival pier in Philly--and provide you with picnic jams for Memorial Day Weekend and beyond--we asked Philly's finest DJ Low Budget AKA Lowbeezy to cut together a mix that showed the range of artists on the bill (The Roots, De La Soul, Kid Cudi, Rakim, Major Lazer, James Murphy, Diplo, Shabazz Palaces, Tune-Yards, Danny Brown & More! Full tracklist after the jump).

Lowbeezy--who first came to national prominence as 1/2 of Philly's Hollertronix crew with partner Diplo--might just be the only DJ alive who could do play such an amazing cross-section of styles and do it justice--beaucoups respect to him for turning it out with creativity and flare. He killt it and this is definitely going to be our soundtrack for the Summer, and we hope yours as well.
