Maybe it's the hyper-real glow of the astroturf, but we can't stop looking at these images of the new football pitch Asamoah Gyan built for his alma mater, Accra Academy. The Ghanaian football star and Black Stars captain promised last year to fund the new facilities at a price of $200,000—an amount that should come easy for one of football's highest paid athletes.

At the same time rumors are swirling that the Shanghai SIPG striker will be joining a British team this year on a loan deal. While Fulham and Sunderland have been mentioned as possible new homes for the prolific scorer, it's looking more and more likely to be Reading, where Gyan confirmed he's scheduled to do a medical evaluation.
