'African prints,' 'Dutch wax prints,' or simply wax. No matter what you call them, many brands are using these African-inspired patterns. While it's easy to fall into clichéd design and marketing strategies with these fabrics, some labels are finding more creative approaches. Designer Bineta Sanor is one of them, as she constantly reinvents herself for her contemporary womenswear line. Sanor's definitely one to keep an eye on as a 2014 emerging brand highlight. As her site states, "Bineta Sanor’s new DIVINE collection is a capsule collection proposing pieces for very feminine women." The garments feature clean, modern designs for a bold and flattering fit. An extra note: Sanor buys all her fabrics in Senegal and surrounding areas to help develop small local businesses.
