Mzungu Kichaa is considered a pioneer of Tanzanian Bongo Flava, one of the biggest genres in the region. His socially conscious single and video, "Jitolee," took Tanzania by storm and reached number one on the East African Charts. His music videos are played all over the continent, and in Europe he won “Best Upcoming Artist” at the African Achievement Awards immediately after releasing his debut album, Tuko Pamoja, in 2009. Mzungu Kichaa performs in East Africa and tours Europe annually. His new release, HUSTLE, has received a nomination at the Danish Music Awards.
