RIO DE JANEIRO—  In his new music video, Brazilian DJ & producer Leo Justi, known for his fusion of funk carioca and electro—putsthe spotlight on passinho, the dance craze that’s been sweeping over the Lusophone world since 2008.

The dance, named after the Portuguese term for footwork, was birthed in the streets and alleyways of Rio's favelas, and fuses elements of breakdancing with traditional Brazilian dance moves like capoeira and samba.

"Young men and women turn to this artistic expression to avoid being recruited by one of the many drug trafficking gangs," says Julio Secchin the music video director.

As a nod to the dance's origin, both he and Justi took their dancers back to the streets in this fast-paced and visually stunning video.
