Sipho The Gift Shares 'The Boy That I Used To Be,' An Introspective Ode To His Younger Self Featuring Well$

Sipho the gift releases his latest single "The Boy That I Used To Be," a self-reflective track featuring Congolese-American rapper Well$.

South African MC Sipho The Gift, returns with his latest offering "The Boy That I Used To Be," a self-produced track which the rapper describes in an email to Okayafrica as "an introspective ode to my younger self that came about through some soul searching and self awareness." In the track, Sipho shares some of his coming-of-age experiences and discusses some of the challenges that he faced growing up. He looks back and offers some words of ecouragment to his younger self, "and push we must to fix this broken bond between us," he rhymes. The single also features Congolese-American artist Well$on the hook. Sipho's heartfelt lyrics and melancholic delivery compliment the song's understated, bass-filled production, making for a memorable, self-reflective track.
