4. Iamisigo

Nigerian designer Bubu Ogisi of Iamisigo didn't see designs that she felt were pushing the envelope and fusing minimalistic aesthetics in Africa, so she she decided to change that herself. Currently based between Nigeria, Ghana and France, her brand is dedicated to infusing a versatile and fashion forward DNA while achieved through the use of visually textured fabrics and incline silhouettes. She has also recently ventured into household products including art and furniture.

Ogisi is amongst a wave of Nigerian designer who are using their resources and network to spread awareness to the growing fashion scene in Lagos. Since the launch of her brand in 2009 she has showcased her designs at the Lagos Fashion and Design Week, the International Fashion Showcase (London Fashion Week) in February 2015 and South Africa Fashion Week Exhibition Durban. Her SS’17 has also been seen in publications like Vogue, Contributor and ELLE magazine.
