Cape Town filmmaker Jenna Bass directed the Lavender Hill-shot video for Ocean View-originating rap collective DoodVenootSkap 'Oemtjokitie.'

Since taking off in Ocean View back in 2012, Cape Town-area rap collective DoodVenootSkap has expanded its membership to include budding emcees in Steenberg, Lavender Hill, and G.L.A (Greater Lavender Hill area). Behind the crew's unapologetic wordplay is a mission to offer a platform via recording opportunities and support for emerging artists who might otherwise lack access to the music industry. Their latest video (and the first, to our knowledge, to surface on the web), sets the hard-hitting "Oemtjokitie" to a monochromatic testament of hometown pride. The Lavender Hill-shot video, directed by CT filmmaker Jenna Bass, showcases a roster of young emcees to look out for in the Cape Flats and beyond.
