Christian Rich, the Nigerian-Chicago duo behind beats by Drake, Childish Gambino, and Earl Sweatshirt, share their latest track "Compromise"
Taiwo and Kehinde Hassan of Christian Rich are the brains behind some of the most recognizable beats on your favorite Drake, Vince Staples, Raekwon, Earl Sweatshirt and Childish Gambino tracks. The Nigeria-to-Chicago duo have proven their unique flair and range of skills by mastering hip-hop to house production work. Their latest track "Compromise" is a complex electronic club piece with an R&B vibe, à la Disclosure, which features British songstress' Sinead Harnett and Secaina Hudson alongside buzzing rapper Goldlink. On their rare ability to appeal to a multitude of different artists Christian Rich told the FADER, "We moved from Chicago to Nigeria at four years old. A neighborhood that was different from Chicago. Not having any friends over there, we had to stick together and we got used to that. So before we branch out to others, we start with each other. Even as musicians, we work with other people outside of each other, but it always initially starts with us together. So that symmetry, that alliance, has obviously helped us get to this point."
