BLKKOUT & Papa Ghana's Deep House Anthem For Ghana
Papa Ghana joins French production duo BLKKOUT on a deep house anthem for Ghana off the forthcoming 'Noir' EP.
<p>It's been just about a year since <strong><a href="http://www.okayafrica.com/tag/papa-ghana/" target="_blank">Papa Ghana</a></strong> (aka <strong><a href="http://www.okayafrica.com/news/daily-paper-spring-summer-2015-morocco-collection/#slide1" target="_blank">Daily Paper</a></strong> co-founder and <strong><a href="http://www.okayafrica.com/news/lafrique-som-systeme-africa-in-your-earbuds-30/" target="_blank">L'Afrique Som Systeme</a></strong> DJ <strong>Jefferson Osei</strong>) <a href="http://www.okayafrica.com/events/okayafrica-electrafrique-nyc-july-ghana-edition/" target="_blank">joined us</a> for a special Ghanaian edition of our Electrafrique NYC party. The Amsterdam-based vocalist is currently prepping the release of his debut EP, <em>The Mandingo</em>. In the meantime he's linked with French producers <strong><a href="https://www.facebook.com/BLKKOUT.MUSIC" target="_blank">BLKKOUT</a></strong> on "Ghana 2.0," the second single off the duo's forthcoming EP debut, <em>Noir</em>. The group, whose members were both raised by African immigrant parents in what they refer to as the hood of Paris' suburbs, say their sound reflects their hometown's "cosmopolitan feel" with a particular influence from their African roots. On their latest cut they pay a special deep house homage to their collaborator's Ghanaian heritage.
