South African guitar-wielding duo WarongxOngx on guitar/lead vocals and Wara on guitar/mouth organ/vocals), have steadily built a loyal fan base on the back of their particular blend of homegrown Khayelitsha Blues. Segueing between soulful atmospheric tunes and hollering foot-stomping numbers, the duo always displays a deep sensibility about the issues confronting the post-apartheid South Africa. "Uhambo" (Journey), directed by Bernard Myburgh and Laura Gamse (who featured the two-piece in her 2011 documentary The Creators), is one of their more slow-burning jams.

There are significant concerns over human rights abuses in Cameroon, according to a report shared by Human Rights Watch (HRW). The campaign group has highlighted the rising persecution of members of the Cameroonian LGBT community which have been documented over the past few months. Security forces in the country have been accused of threatening, assaulting and arresting queer individuals.
