AFRICAN AF is OkayAfrica’s debut homegrown collection for SS17.

Some of the new designs were inspired by popular references—check out the Naija No Dey Carry Last tee and I Don't Speak African tote—and others by the local scoop from our global community.

All in all, though, this collection was created out of one inherent desire: to proudly show where we're from and what we love.

You can now watch the AFRICAN AF designs in action in this brand new, vintage-style dance video directed by Phillip-Daniel Ducasse, which features our models getting down to DJ Spinalland Davido's aforbeats hit "Package."

“With this shoot, we wanted to do something that had a vibe and included popular cultural references—from the fabric we used with the deep colors and textures, to the incorporation of instruments and other signifiers of different areas in the continent and in the diaspora,” says OkayAfrica's Sinat Giwa. “We have books about travel from borderless writers and, of course Fela records.”
