Having just been crowned the winners of Spain's La Liga trophy, the Barcelona team have touched down in Johannesburg for a friendly match against Mamelodi Sundowns F.C.

The game will take place at the FNB Stadium, with kick off scheduled for 6:15PM CET.

South African press is reporting that mining magnate Patrice Motsepe, the owner of the Sundowns, allegedly paid Barcelona 3 million Euros to make the trip for the game.

These teams have actually played each other before, in another friendly back in 2007, which ended with a Ronaldinho and Xavi-led Barca winning 2-1.

In the meantime, the arrival of the world's greatest footballer Lionel Messi has South Africans going a little crazy on social media.
