#BlackOutEid: Young Black Muslims Shine as They Celebrate Eid Al-Fitr

Today, Eid al-Fitr, marks the end of the Holy Month of Ramadan, a time when Muslims all around the world take time to fast and reflect.

For the fourth consecutive year, young black Muslims have taken to social media to share photos of themselves with the hashtag #BlackOutEid, which was created in 2015 by Aamina Mohamed to combat the erasure of black Muslims during times of celebration, and highlight the diversity of the Muslim world.

Four years later and the movement is still thriving, as several black Muslims have been sharing their #BlackOutEid photos all morning long in celebration.
