Daniel Kaluuya Wins 2018 BAFTA Rising Star Award

We honestly can't think of anyone more deserving.

It's Daniel Kaluuya's moment.

Fresh off the off the record-shattering release of Black Panther, the British-Ugandan actor now has even more to celebrate: he's the winner of the 2018 EE BAFTA Rising Star Award.

The actor accepted the coveted award last night for his unforgettable role in 2017's Get Out. He gave a humorous speech, thanking friends, producers and fellow actors who he says "let him think different," and dedicated the award to his mother.

'Mum, you're the reason why I started, why I'm here, you're the reason I keep going. This is yours. Love peace lets get it," said the actor.

Fellow stars took to Twitter to congratulate Kaluuya on the big win. British-Ghanaian grime rapper, Stormzy shared his enthusiasm over his friend's win.

Kaluuya beat out stiff competition, including Tessa Thompson, Josh O'Connor and more to snag the award.

It's shaping up to be an eventful awards season for the actor, who's also nominated for an Oscar, Golden Globe and a Screen Actor's Guild Award. We're hoping he snags every single one of them.

If you haven't already, you can catch Kaluuya on the big screen as W'kabi in Black Panther, out now. Congrats to the young talent!
