'Looks Like a Presidential Rally': Davido Arrives at National Youth Service Camp

There was an atmosphere of jubilation as Davido arrived at camp yesterday, but not everyone is happy about the "preferential treatment" the singer is receiving.

As you may have heard, afrobeats megastar Davido, has enrolled in Nigeria's mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) three years after his graduation from college to the surprise of many.

On Thursday, the singer arrived in Lagos to officially being the NYSC program, and as you might've expected, pandemonium ensued upon his arrival, with crowds of people flocking to get a glimpse of him as he went to complete his registration. The singer and his mother arrived on the grounds in a heavily guarded vehicle, drawing major attention from people at the camp, reports Africa News.

Photos from the camp, show Davido arriving to somewhat of a parade, entertaining fellow participants with a mic in hand and signing registration papers.

Needless to say, Davido received a much warmer welcome than the average NYSC participant. Many online have pointed out that Davido appears to be receiving preferential treatment because of his superstar status.

Some seem to disagree, and are commending the artist for participating in the program, despite already being a wealthy and established musician.
