In the joyous new video for his song "Burkin Bâ," Burkinabé rapper Joey Le Soldat looks at the camera with a mix of kingly ferocity and childlike jubilee that beams off the screen. In the official visuals for the title track off Soldat's socially-conscious second album Burkin BâLP, directors Oncle Léon & San Remy depict Soldat dancing to drum thuds and electronic whirs along with a group of smiling boys and head-bobbing men. The deep-voiced emcee is clearly the leader of his crew but he makes himself a part of it, joining in the loose revelry while he raps, "all children of the same country.
