Social media has played a huge role in representing contemporary Africa. We at Okayafrica understand the importance of Twitter and Facebook in getting the word out about music acts and various other cultural movements in Africa and the diaspora. Other folks who are shaping the changing global perception of Africa, aka Afropolitans, include Yolanda Sangweni, Kathleen Bomani, and Chief Boima.
