Last we heard from South Africa's Petite Noir he and his Drone Society collective had teamed up with Gold Coast Trading Co. on the Gold Drones capsule collection “dedicated to the Soweto youth uprising.” Today the “noirwave” godfather adds his post punk revivalist touch to rework French/British indie pop band Frànçois & the Atlas Mountains. On the noirwave remix of “The Way To The Forest,” thunderous drums announce the Cape Town-based producer/multi-instrumentalist's dramatic diversion from his Domino family. The Capital of Cool Collective member blends a rhythmic xylophone over crystalizing synths with stretched out, looped, vocals from the original.
