Photos: Celebrating The Human Spirit in Cape Town (Kelly Wainwright)

Self proclaimed “out of the box” artist Kelly Wainwright has brought her unique style to life with a new project, PlayJumpEat, a series of photographs celebrating all walks of life and the beautiful city of Cape Town, South Africa. The series was captured by local Cape Town photographers Inge Prins, Charley Pollard, Antonia Steyn & Saul WainwrightPlayJumpEat is broken into two chapters: “Bed Jump” and “Cape Couture.”  The “Bed Jump’’ series is celebration of the human spirit and features the amazing scenic backdrop of Cape Town. The vision behind these photos was to evoke the most basic human feeling, joy, and what better way to do so then jumping on a bed? Kelly was lucky enough to have acclaimed South African band Freshlyground (pictured above) included in the series. The second chapter,“Cape Couture,” is Kelly’s vision of African Fashion - with a slight twist. Watch the video below for a better sense of the project - and then you can check out the entire series right here. All pictures are for sale and a portion of the proceeds will benefit Philani, a NGO community based Child Health and Nutrition Project based in Cape Town. Philani is dedicated to protecting Children’s rights to proper nutrition and healthcare in communities where malnutrition is most prominent. If you are interested in purchasing a photograph from the PlayJumpEat series, please email Kelly Wainwright at kelly@messymonkeyarts.com with your order.  More photos from the project are after the jump.
