Last year Rocky Marsiano, the project from Lisbon's veteran hip-hop producer/DJ/MC D-Mars, released the 14-track top album of 2014 choice Meu Kamba, which featured samples of classic vinyls from Cape Verde, Angola and Mozambique. The LP matched the sounds of semba and funaná guitar to MPC beat compositions geared for the dance floor.

This year Rocky returns with the new Ritinha/Djó Djó EP just in time for summer. The release will feature two singles, "Ritinha" and "Djó Djó," on a limited edition 7" vinyl and include two bonus digital tracks via Rocky's Bandcamp. EP opener 'Ritinha' sees the producer once again mining the grooves of dusty African vinyl and giving the samples new life with the addition of drum beats from the classic TR-909 drum machine.

Rocky Marsiano will also be touring quite a bit this summer and debuting his Meu Kamba live ensemble at Outjazz Festival in Lisbon June 21st; additional show dates are listed below.  You can also listen to two tracks from Rocky's new EP Ritinha/Djó Djó below.
