Watch Shabazz Palaces' Abstract 'Motion Sickness' Video

Seattle/Zimbabwe hip-hop duo Shabazz Palaces share the video for the song "Motion Sickness" off their latest LP, 'Lese Majesty.'

More like a complex Lynchian short film than a traditional music video, the visual accompaniment to Shabazz Palaces' "Motion Sickness" off their recent Lese Majesty LP probes more questions the more you watch it. After repeated viewings, the clip for the mellow-yet-engaging track by the Seattle/Zimbabwe genre-torching duo emerges as an intricate, Mulholland Drive-like portrait of a mother & reality TV actress' buried pain, drug abuse, delusion, and ultimate reckoning. The poignant TEAN-directed video, which features a leading actress capable of expressing a web of emotions in just one look, complements the underlying darkness of the song and adds to Shabazz Palaces' catalogue of abstract videos. Watch the clip for "Motion Sickness" below, Lese Majesty is out now via Sub Pop.
