On Sep 21, First Ladies from a number of African countries will connect with emerging African woman leaders from across the diaspora for the The Future of Women: Leadership for a New Era event, a day of dialogue, fellowship and music!

"For nearly 10 years, the Global First Ladies Alliance has been convening first ladies for high-level policy dialogues in the US and across Africa. This year, the group is bringing in voices and partners not traditionally engaged in or given access to these conversations: rising women leaders and new media platforms," said the alliance in a press release. 

OkayAfrica has teamed up with Facebook and M.A.C. Aids Fund to present the #FutureOfWomenAwards, which will honor and celebrate African women leaders in the areas of tech, social impact and creative entrepreneurship.

The action will be streaming live on our Facebook page, where you can take part in discussions with First Ladies from Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Côte d'Ivoire, The Gambia, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda and Sierra Leone and more. There will also be a  musical performance by acclaimed East African vocalist and songwriter Somi. You don't want to miss it.
