A Warrant of Arrest Has Been Issued for Grace Mugabe by South African Authorities

Grace Mugabe is finally facing the music for her assault from last year. About damn time if you ask us.

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has issued a warrant of arrest for former Zimbabwean First Lady Grace Mugabe. This, after she assaulted model Gabrielle Engels in a Sandton hotel last year and was granted diplomatic immunity which was later revoked after the courts found it unconstitutional.

Racist lobby group AfriForum, who prefer to be known as a civil rights organization, announced that they had successfully managed to have a warrant of arrest for Grace Mugabe issued by the NPA. Watch the video below for the announcement:

The assault on South African model Gabrielle Engels by Grace Mugabe occurred late last year. Engels was visiting Mugabe's sons, Robert and Chatunga Mugabe, at a hotel in the affluent Sandton area, in Johannesburg's north. This angered Mugabe who then proceeded to assault Engels with an extension cord. Engels was injured and went on to press charges against Mugabe.

However, in what is thought to have been an attempt to diffuse any possible tensions between South Africa and Zimbabwe, Mugabe was granted diplomatic immunity. Put short, it was as if she never committed a crime and was free to return to Zimbabwe. Earlier this year, however, that decision was revoked by the South Gauteng High Court as it deemed it unconstitutional seeing that the former first lady was not in South Africa on official state business, but to seek medical attention instead.

No further information beside the issuing of the warrant of arrest has been made available.

Many have, however, since taken to Twitter following the news to express their absolute amusement. Some feel that it is time Mugabe was brought to book for her crime while others question whether the warrant of arrest will materialize into an actual arrest.
