"Wavey" by the UK'sCliQ garnered over a million Spotify streams in under a month and features UK singer Alika.

The viral hit song just took on a new life by way of a remix by South African producer DJ Maphorisa, who you might remember from "One Dance" by Drake, Kyla and Wizkid or "Ngud'" by Kwesta and Cassper Nyovest, among other hits he produced last year.

The producer gives the song a gqom twist–it's refreshing to hear Alika's vocals over those pounding kicks, pulsating bass lines and dark synths now synonymous to the SA genre.

"The song and the lyrics are so wavy, I really loved it, and thought it'd be cool to add some of my own flavor to it," said DJ Maphorisa about the track.
