Audio: Wale Remixes P Square!

Wale's wheelhouse might be go-go soaked DC hip-hop, but every now and again he has to remind everyone just where his family hails from. That's Naija blood that flows through his veins, so lest anyone forget he has to lace a track or two with some loving words for the motherland. Wale's latest tribute to his heritage is a remix of Naija R&B duo P Square's 2007 hit “No One Like You." (an OKA office fave!). According to Wale's twitter, this is just a teaser for what to expect from his upcoming album Ambition, which is due out this fall.

It takes a special kind of rapper to flow over a Nigerian love song, and the remix thoroughly unifies all the smooth intonations of the original with Wale's smart wordplay. The public apparently agrees since the freestyle racked up 10,000 downloads in under 30 minutes, and is currently siting somewhere in the 30k range. You should probably hurry and download it too.
