Lupita Nyong'o, Trevor Noah, Ncuti Gatwa and More Nominated for 2019 MTV Movie Awards

We know who we're voting for!

The nominations for the 2019 MTV Movie Awards have been announced, and much like last year when Black Panther dominated the show, and the year before, when Get Out did, some of our favorite performers and projects have the potential to sweep this year's awards.

Namely, Lupita Nyong'o, who has been nominated for two awards for her striking performance as Red in Jordan Peele's Us. The Oscar-winner is nominated for both "Best Performance" In a Movie and "Best Villain." Us has also been nominated in the Best Film category. The actress shared a video showing her getting into character as Red on social media upon hearing the news. "I wonder which character the villain nom is for," she wrote.

Trevor Noah has also earned a nomination for Best Host, for his work on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah.

Rwandan-born newcomer Ncuti Gatwa, who plays the standout, openly gay Nigerian character Eric Effiong on Netflix's coming-of-age comedy Sex Education, has been nominated for "Best Kiss" as well as "Breakthrough Performance."

The actor shared his excitement over the news on Twitter:

The countries named on the list, include Nigeria, Tanzania, Sudan and Eritrea, as well as Kyrgyzstan, Myanmar, and the Eastern European nation of Belarus. Politico first broke the news.

According to The Washington Post, the move would likely not be a complete ban on citizens looking to enter the US, however it could place various visa restrictions on some government officials and on those seeking certain type of visitor and business visas.

Some nations could also be banned from participation in the diversity travel lottery program, which grants green cards. Trump has threatened to sack the program in the past.
