Diawara released several standout music videos last year, including "Bonya," as well as the music video for "Nterini." OkayAfrica spoke with the singer last June, in which she spoke about African unity and the political themes in her music. "People need an example in Africa, because politicians can't be our example," she said. "They have a different aim, which cannot be my generation's aim. For us, I think we can find a way, how to save this Africa. But we should find our own way. I think it's starting already, what's happening in Nigeria, Ghana, Senegal, all of Africa. Even in Ethiopia."
Colors Studio has released an impressive string of performances by African artists in the last month. Nigerian songstress Tiwa Savage appeared on the show just last week, while Nigerian "wonder kid" Rema graced the studio before then. British-Ghanaian artist Kojey Radical also delivered a memorable performance recently. Revist some other A COLORS SHOW performances here.
