We're one week into October and Fela Kuti's birthday month is already proving to be HUGE. Last week saw a 'First Listen' of the upcoming RED HOT + Fela LP along with Baloji's "Buy Africa" lyric vid. In the latest awesome bit of news, Funk It Blog has paid an early birthday tribute to the late greatest through the release of previously unreleased Fela recordings circa 1980s. It's a mystery to us how the live funk dedicated site obtained their hands on gold, but no doubt it's a fresh soundtrack for the monthlong celebration. The offering includes four cuts total, clocking in at just over two hours of history now frozen through mp3.
