Insecure show runner Issa Rae, has taken on yet another exciting film project.

The actress will star in 'American Princess' an upcoming romantic comedy from the producer and director behind Bridesmaids and Ghostbusters, Paul Feig, reports Shadow and Act.

The film will be directed by Stella Meghie, who premiered her latest film The Weekend at this year's Toronto International Film Festival. The film's script was created by Nigerian-American writer, Amy Anobi, who has previously worked as a writer and co-executive producer on Insecure.

The film centers on an American woman (Rae) who moves to London, where she's drawn into a world of wealth and high society and falls in love in a very unexpected way.

Issa made her first big screen appearance this month in the coming-of-age film,The Hate U Give. She is also set to star in the filmLittle with Black-ish star Marsai Martin, which isdue out in September 2019.
