John Boyega Hinted at a Possible Marvel Superhero Role and Fans are Freaking Out Over Who He Could Play

The British-Nigerian actor revealed that he's met with the studio to discuss a possible superhero role "way down the line."

John Boyega is enjoying major success as the star of his latest film, Pacific Rim Uprising—and we can't wait to see which role he'll take on next.

In an interview at this year's Awesome Con in Washington D.C., the actor talked about his roles in Pacific Rim Uprising and Star Wars, and addressed fans who asked about the possibility of him starring in a reboot of Marvel's Blade, originally starring Wesley Snipes.

While Boyega confirmed that he would not be taking on that role, "it would spit in the face of Wesley [Snipes] if I took Blade." he said, the actor did reveal that he had meetings with Marvel about possibly playing another superhero "way down the line."

Of course, fans were excited to learn about the news and immediately began speculating as to which character Boyega could play. Some are suggesting that he's be the perfect fit for the Black Panther sequel, Shadow and Act suggests, that he could play White Tiger, a villain who worked alongside Erik Killmonger, or an X-MenMutant.

Though it doesn't look like we'll know what role Boyega will take on anytime soon, people are already excited about the prospect of him becoming the next Marvel superhero. Given all the success he's had starring in films for other major franchises, it only makes sense that he would enter the Marvel Universe next.
