Last month Kenyan-American multi-instrumental songstress Nasimiyu Murumba unveiled the first single off her upcoming dirt EP– soul-folk ballad "Raise Your Arrow (The Hunt)." Follow-up free spirit's anthem "Even In The Dark" reflects the range of the musical meccas the NOLA-Brooklyn transplant has honed sounds from. Picture the soulful ringleader of a circus-folk orchestra– such is the big dreamer's vibe of this latest gem, which Nasimiyu discusses below.

'Even in the Dark,' is a song of GRATITUDE. It is a dedication to the people and the natural forces that have given me hope and belief in something bigger than what the American Dream has to offer. Something other than the colonized experience — something more integral to our own personal truths and inner sources of bliss. It is a wave of colorful sonic energy meant to fuel brighter visions of worlds worth working toward.
