It was bound to happen sooner or later. Lil Nas X's anomalous hit "Old Town Road" just got a South African cover. One of the country's finest rappers Kwesta joins his pop and folk Sony Music Africa label mates Refentse and Elandré for a rendition of the viral hit.
"Old Town Road" is one of those songs where every artist just wants in, be it through a remix or a fan video (in the case of Kim Kardashian West and her young one).
South Africans like things, and it was only a matter of time till our artists (or labels) wanted to capitalize on the trending song.
