Back in October/November, 30 rising names in South Africa's electronic music landscape were selected to attend the 2013 edition of Red Bull Music Academy Bass Camp Johannesburg at the Alexander Threatre in Braamfontein. In between attending workshops led by the likes of Francois K, Hugh Masekela, Vinny Da Vinci, Jullian Gomes, and Black Coffee (an Academy alum himself), participating artists found time to hit the studio together for spontaneous, anything-goes recording sessions. RBMA Bass Camp Joburg recently unveiled six complete tracks born out of those sessions. The result is a 27-minute taste of South Africa's next crop of future-sounding electronic music players. Look out for more tracks to come from the 2013 bass camp.
