Catch the First Teaser of 'Knock Out Blessing'—the Latest from the Makers of 'Ojukokoro'

The clip from Nigerian director Dare Olaitan's newest project is a refreshing must-watch.

Nigerian director Dare Olaitan is one of the few filmmakers shaking up what many expect to see in Nollywood films.

His new project, Knock Out Blessing, is another fusion of the comedy and suspense thriller genres that follows Ojukokoro—his film that made its New York premiere earlier this year. Olaitan says to expect the film to be "bigger and better."

The brief synopsis explains:

'Knock Out Blessing' is an intriguing tale about three girls on an adventure to survive, which takes them down a path that leads into the criminal sector of Nigeria's political underworld.

Just from this brief clip, we're due to see Olaitan's commentary on what everyday Nigerians endure and overcome—and we can't wait to see it in full on the big screen.

"[Knock Out Blessing] is the same genre as Ojukokoro, but not about greed this time," Olaitan shares with OkayAfrica. "It's instead about the ability of one person to change the narrative of a country and how Nigerians see themselves in relation to their government."

Knock Out Blessing stars Ade Laoye, Meg Otanwa, Linda Ejiofor, Demola Adedoyin, Bucci Franklin, Tope Tedela, Gbenga Titiloye, Tony Akposheri, Udoka Oyeka, Charles Etubeibi, Sammie Eddie, Paul Utomi, Iyke Micheal, Mary Kowo, Sandra Eze, and KC Ejelonu.

The film is set to premiere in the last quarter of 2018. Stay tuned for updates.
