Uganda's DJ Kampire is one of the artists at the forefront of the booming electronic scene coming out of East Africa.
The Nyege Nyege Tapes affiliate has been electrifying dance floors with her afro-leaning selections of global bass since 2015 and has already garnered fans around the world. She first got her start in the underground party scene in Kampala.
In this video, produced in collaboration with Red Bull Music Academy, she shares her guide to navigating nightlife in the bustling Ugandan capital – from carwash parties to essential late-night grub.

"Nyege Nyege is a festival. It's a label. It's a residency space. It's an ethos. It's a crew of ragtag artist and producers and it's a place for people to come together and sort of create alternative ways of being and appreciating music in Kampala," Kampire mentions. "One of the beautiful things about the festival and the parties is that I think it's one of the more diverse settings that you can party in Kampala."
