A new video from BBC Africa takes us inside Lagos' first-ever plus-size fashion week, dedicated to catering to the needs of Nigeria's population full-bodied women.

"I feel it's time for the plus-size woman to be celebrated in their unique way. There is a market for plus size women in Nigeria, and in Africa as a whole. Why wouldn't we want to cater to the majority, to the masses of the people," says The Golden Curvy PlusModel Agency and Plus-Size Fashion Week founder Temi Aboderin-Alao.

Model Praise Oulaye, describes how the creation of the one-of-a-kind fashion event has made her more proud of her size. "I lost hope at first because I was big and plus [sized women] are not actually appreciate in Africa. Then thanks to this show, it's made us proud of our bodies," she says. Her words spell out why inclusion in the fashion industry is so very important.
