South African lyricist Yugen Blakrok is the latest artist from the country to perform at the popular YouTube show, A COLORS SHOW. The MC performed her song "Morbid Abakus" from her recently released sophomore album Anima Mysterium.
The show's minimal setup always ensures to cast the spotlight on the artist and the music. Which is the perfect setup for an artist like Yugen, whose music requires the listener to pay close attention if they are to appreciate it for what it is.
She spits such venom as:
"We're far from innocent, mediocrely trained on house and tenements/ Immune to pressures from religious sects/ Stay fighting till our own dominant thoughts find a way to manifest/ And insulate the mind against lobotomized societies dribbling/ The most traitorous, turn on their siblings."
Yugen Blakrok is the second South African rapper to perform on A COLORS SHOW. In 2017, the Durban rapper ByLwansta performed his single "Lindiwe" on the German YouTube show.
