CMJ South African Showcase W/ Christian Tiger School & Beatenberg

The CMJ South African Showcase featuring Christian Tiger School, Beatenberg, and Yolanda is Tuesday, October 21, at Hotel Chantelle in NYC.

New York City's annual CMJ Music Marathon is just upon us. This year SA is represented with CMJ's very first (to our knowledge) South African Showcase, featuring Cape Town indie-pop darlings Beatenberg, Yolanda, and CT beatsmith duo Christian Tiger School (last time the guys were in NYC they recorded one of our favorite tracks of 2013, their "Spanish Robin Williams" collab with Bilal and Worlds Fair for our Player Xchange series). The show is $10 at the door (free with CMJ badge), and hits on Tuesday, October 21st, at Hotel Chantelle (92 Ludlow St). While they're in town, Christian Tiger School will be speaking at NYU and doing a recording for NYU music students. Head to CMJ for a full schedule of events and stay tuned for more news on CTS x NYC.

The repatriation of the small but "priceless" Ife Terracotta has been a long journey considering it was reportedly smuggled out of Nigeria in 2019.
